چکیده
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) plays an important role in regulating blood pressure the body by converting angiotensin-I into angiotensin-II. It is basic component of Renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS), imbalance RAAS may leads to many cardiovascular and renal diseases. There are marketed available drugs for inhibition ACE, but prolonged use some cause progressive side effects. Repurposing existing can be a way find new inhibitors ACE. In this study, high-throughput sensitive method HPLC-ESI-QqQ-MS with good reproducibility (%RSD < 9.98) linearity (R2 = 0.999) was used investigate 77 commercial their inhibitory potential as antihypertensive drugs. Among these drugs, 41 were found active 36 them showed moderate lowest IC50 272 µM. This study that different pharmaceutical also ACE inhibitor after necessary clinical trials or validation.

Potential angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors from Iranian traditional plants described by Avicenna’s Canon of Medicine
Objective: Hypertension is an important cause of cardiovascular disorders. The angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) plays an important role in hypertension; therefore, inhibition of ACE in treatment of chronically elevated blood pressure is an important therapeutic approach. In the current review, we have p...
متن کاملA HPLC-UV method for the determination of angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity
To determine the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity of a fish hydrolysate, different methods were tested. Finally, a sensitive, extraction-free HPLC method using N-(3-[2-furylacryloyl)-PheGly-Gly (FAPGG) as substrate was preferred. This method relies on the UV-titration of the peptide 2-furylacryloyl-L-Phe (FAP) resulting from the hydrolysis of the FAPGG after a chromatogra...
متن کاملInhibitory Effects of Germinal Angiotensin Converting Enzyme by Medicinal Plants Used in Iranian Traditional Medicine as Antihypertensive
Background & Aim: Medicinal plants are used in traditional medicine for the treatment of different diseases such as hypertension. Since inhibition of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is one of the involved mechanisms in control of hypertension, in this study the inhibitory effect of 20 medicinal plants on ACE was investigated. Methods: The medicinal plants were collected, powdered, extracted...
متن کاملAttenuation of Focal Cerebral Ischemic Injury Following Post-Ischemic Inhibition of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) Activity in Normotensive Rat
Background: Central renin angiotensin system has an important role on the cerebral microcirculation and metabolism. Our previous work showed that inhibition of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activity prior to induction of ischemia protected the brain from severe ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injuries. This study evaluated the impacts of post-ischemic inhibition of ACE, enalapril, on brain inf...
متن کاملAngiotensin-I-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitors from Marine Resources: Prospects in the Pharmaceutical Industry
Hypertension or high blood pressure is one of the major independent risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. Angiotensin-I-converting enzyme (EC 3.4.15.1; ACE) plays an important physiological role in regulation of blood pressure by converting angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. Therefore, the inhibition of ACE activity is a major target in the prevention of hypertension...
